The Dossa Group was established in 1930 in Bombay, India, as a trading firm dealing in wool. In 1947, the businesses of the Dossa Group were moved to Pakistan, and since then it is grown to become one of the leading industrial and trading groups in Pakistan. Today it is comprised of several public and private companies involved in manufacturing and trading.

Haji Dossa Nutralgum was established in 1954 as a joint venture between the Dossa family and Nutralgum, Spa, of Bergamo, Italy, and ever since then it has been one of the leading manufacturers of guar gum in the world. Reliance Industries was established in 1990 to manufacture high viscosity guar gum specially for the food industry.

Both factories are located in the industrial port city of Karachi, within 30 minutes drive from the port facilities in Karachi.
